Glendale is beautiful city with lots of shopping and dining options, but many struggle to find things to do in Glendale with kids.

Of course depending on your kids age they may enjoy different activities but with a 9 and 4 year old here are a few things we enjoy doing in Glendale with as a family.

The Americana on Brand

While there is really nothing exciting or specific to do for children, kids do seem to enjoy being at the Americana. Let’s face it, who doesn’t when it is not overly crowded. Just walking around the place is enjoyable and perhaps stopping at the small carts selling snacks or even toys. The kids especially enjoy riding the trolley that goes around the Americana. Depending on the night or day and season, there are specific themes and decorations and other events that happen in the lawn area that the kids really enjoy. I recommend checking their website frequently to see what events or activities they have coming up

Visit one of the many great parks in Glendale

Glendale has many wonderful parks with great playgrounds the kids are sure to enjoy and parents to relax. You can read about some of my favorite parks in Glendale that the kids would love.

Travel Town Museum

Although not exactly in Glendale, Travel Town Museum is right next door and a few minutes drive. Travel Town Museum is a railway museum located in Griffith Park in Los Angeles, California. It is home to a collection of over 100 historic railroad cars and locomotives, as well as a miniature train ride. The museum is a great place for families to learn about the history of transportation and to have fun exploring the exhibits.

It’s a great place to learn about transportation: The museum has exhibits on a variety of transportation modes, including trains, buses, cars, and airplanes. There are many hands-on exhibits that kids can explore. The best part about the place is the miniature train ride that kids will surely love. Also a bonus is that admission to the museum is free.

Travel Town Museum is open every day from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. It is located at 5200 Zoo Drive in Los Angeles.

Similar to Travel Town, although not in Glendale it is a few minutes away. This place is actually located about 1 minute away from Travel Town, so why not go to both places. What is great about this place is it also offers a train ride, on smaller steam trains that is a longer ride. The best part is during the holidays such as Christmas and Halloween the ride is decorated according to the theme. It is only open to the public on Sundays from 11am – 3PM. The kids and family will love this train ride.
