Los Angeles is full of places to see and things to do. Theres thousands or more places for tourists and locals for both adults and kids. Let’s look at some fun places for kids in Los Angeles.

Let’s face it, planning or finding a place to go with kids can be tough. There are so many options that we tend to forget about some places when thinking about fun places to take the kids. I am hoping by reading this list you either learn of somewhere new or have that lightbulb go on and think “oh yeah we can go there”.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)

5905 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036

This world-famous museum has a variety of exhibits that are both educational and fun for kids. There is a special section for kids called the “Kidspace” which has interactive exhibits on art, science, and culture. The museum even has an outdoor space full of art, live music, art-making activities for kids, relaxing areas and dining options. Kids will enjoy the food from the LACMA Cafe which has smash burgers, chicken tenders and french fries. On Sundays from 12:30 to 3:30 pm the entire family can make art.

Universal Studios Hollywood

100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608

The park features a variety of attractions and rides, including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic World – The Ride, and Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. In addition to the rides, there are also shows and live performances that take place throughout the day. Kids will love the opportunity to meet their favorite movie characters and take part in interactive experiences.

Universal Studios Hollywood is great for kids of all age groups older than 4. When we visit our the kids favorite rides are Minions, Secret Life of Pets, Simpsons and of course the Tram Tour. Keep in mind the Tram Tour is quite long and some kids may get antsy. I have yet to visit the new Mario Land that has opened but I have heard its great. If you are planning on attending Universal read about my post regarding annual passes as it may make more sense to purchase the annual pass.

Theres many restaurants to grab a bite to eat that is great for kids and entire family. They do get crowded at times but if you can’t find anything you like, you can always walk out of the park and go next door to Universal CityWalk which has a ton of places to eat. Once you are done you can walk back into the theme park.

California Science Center

The California Science Center is a great place for kids to learn about science and technology in a fun and interactive way. There are exhibits on everything from space exploration to dinosaurs to the human body. Kids can touch, feel, and explore the exhibits, making learning about science a hands-on experience. The Science Center has a large collection of dinosaur bones and fossils. Kids can learn about the different types of dinosaurs and how they lived.

Petersen Automotive Museum

6060 WILSHIRE BOULEVARD, LOS ANGELES, CA, 90036

The Petersen Automotive Museum is a great place for kids to learn about the history of cars and automotive technology in a fun and interactive way. There are exhibits on everything from classic cars to concept cars to race cars. Kids can touch, feel, and explore the exhibits, making learning about cars a hands-on experience. The museum also provides different workshops for kids and changes regularity, check out their website to see what workshops are available at the time you are planning to attend. One of the most exciting part of the museum is the collection of cars that are featured in movies and TV shows that kids will recognize, such as the Batmobile, Knight Rider and DeLorean from Back to the Future.

Aquarium of the Pacific

100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA 90802

The Aquarium of the Pacific is a great place for kids to learn about the marine life of the Pacific Ocean in a fun and interactive way. There are exhibits on everything from sharks and rays to sea otters and penguins. There are multiple exhibits that kids will get to see and explore such as animals from the tropical Pacific Ocean, including sharks, rays, and fish. Kids can learn about the different habitats of the tropical Pacific and the animals that live there. A bonus tip when visiting the Aquarium, if the weather is great right next door are boat rentals at the Long Beach harbor. Go and rent a electric boat and drive around the harbor. The kids will love it.

Kidspace Children’s Museum

The Kidspace Children’s Museum is a great place for kids to learn and explore in a fun and interactive way. There are exhibits on everything from art and science to dinosaurs and space. Kids can touch, feel, and explore the exhibits, making learning a hands-on experience. There are lots of interactive items in the museum that kids will love. They also have a large outdoor area with various interactive activities such as the Trike Tracks and Physics Forest. Kids will love this place.
