Glendale is full of dining options – from fancy to casual. Drive down Brand blvd and there are tons of restaurants and eateries to chose from. Glendale also has some great hole in the wall type restaurants and small casual places.
When choosing a place to eat we often times forget some of the places that are so good but slip our mind. I put together a list of restaurant that I love but tend to forget. Some on the more casual side but regardless these are places I recommend anyone tries if you are in Glendale for food.
My picks for must try restaurants in Glendale
Fish King
722 N Glendale Ave Glendale, CA 91206
While this places is technically a market for seafood, which is fresh and delicious, they also have a dine in are for cooked meals to order and eat. They offer a wide variety of items from plates, tacos, bowels and sandwiches. It all tastes amazing and fresh. If you like seafood you should definitely try this place.
El Sauz Tacos

470 W Colorado St, Glendale, CA 91204 (previously Ginas Tacos)

This is a true meaning of hole in the wall, at least their second location on Colorado is. Probably the best tasting tacos, burritos and Fortas in all of Glendale in my opinion and judging by the line you may encounter many times, I think it’s safe to say many feel the same way. Their red salsa is what really makes this place stand out.
Ossys bakery
130 W Stocker St, Glendale, CA 91202
Fairly new to me but I am in love with their pastrami sandwich. One of the best I have had in all of Glendale. It’s on the spicier side with a nice kick. They also have many other items, which I have yet to try because I keep sticking to the pastrami.
Sipan Bakery
1250 W Glenoaks Blvd C, Glendale, CA 91201
This small bakery is located across the street from the DMV. They make some amazing baked goods from traditional lamajuhn and byoreks to some unique items such as their lamajuhn tacos. That’s right lamajuhn tacos. This is a must try. An order of 2 of this is quite filling. Another one of my favorite of theirs is the egg gondola also known as ajarski. The bread is light and delicious. In my opinion it is the best one around the Glendale/Burbank area.
Sasabune Sushi
101 North Brand Boulevard #220
This hidden sushi joint is a gem. Located next to California Pizza Kitchen on Brand blvd on the second floor, it’s a place that’s pretty unnoticeable. I can’t tell you how many times I have walked by in the past and never knew what it was. Try it once and you’ll see why it’s on this list. A bit on the pricier side, they serve traditional style sushi with a Omakase menu. The fish is always fresh and delicious.
Kozy Korner
213 W Wilson Ave, Glendale, CA 91203
With the crazy amount of development that happened I’m sure glad this place stayed. Kozy Korner serves the best Thai food in Glendale in my opinion. Everything is delicious especially their Pad Thai. If you are in the mood for Thai food then Kozy Korner is the place to try.
Mini Kabob
313 1/2 Vine St, Glendale, CA 91204
Now this is a definition of a hole in the wall place that’s delicious. Located in a residential street one table for seating this place serves some killer Mediterranean kabobs. Made fresh to order its delicious. Highly recommended.
Mario’s Italian Deli & Market
740 E Broadway, Glendale, CA 91205
This is a classic place for delicious sandwiches. This place has been around for long time. The place is half market half deli with a few seat inside. They have a variety of sandwiches, pizza and salads. The sandwiches have a middle slice of bread also, which you can ask them to not include. Also a bonus tip is order ahead of time as they can get quit busy. My favorite is the pastrami and chicken sandwich, but everything else is delicious as well.
More to be added to the list, feel free to drop some recommendations you may have.
